Rad Reading – February

This month I decided to read the book The Babysitters Club, which is book two out of the series by Raina Telgemeier. In this book Stacy, who is one of the main characters, and is struggling with her diabetes. Throughout the book Stacy’s parents schedule multiple doctors appointment different doctors and she’s fed up with it. She is having trouble expressing how she would like to come to terms with her diabetes while facing trouble with her friends. While on a doctor strip in New York Stacy finds her self in the company of someone she’d rather not be with. The babysitters club have a new arrival. The babysitters agency. They have older kids, people who can stay out later, and they have a lot of babysitters that can take lots of jobs meanwhile the babysitters club can’t stay up past 10 even on weekends, are younger than the babysitters in the agency, and they’re only four members.
What I love about this series is that is relatable on some level because of friend drama, sabotage, gossiping, and it’s fun to read because it’s is semi relatable book that’s also a comedy. This highlights what most kids in school are like while also not because it’s not completely accurate which is what makes it entertaining.
My favorite character in this book is Stacy because of her ability to say no it’s end up for self two her peers and parents.

My favorite line in the book is when Stacy says “Which one?” When Stacy says this she is talking to her mother mother states that she’ll call the doctor. I love Stacey‘s sarcasm and willingness to voice her opinions.
